Anne Stinson, LPC

she/her

I am a trauma-focused therapist, and I have been in this field for 12 years. My job is to guide clients as they focus on distressing experiences impacting the brain and body, so that these experiences may have less of a hold on their life.

Having worked in domestic and sexual violence shelters, and in underserved community schools, my clinical lens has a foundation in the impacts of trauma, and traumatic stress across many stages of development.

People are amazing. The brain and body are amazing, as are all the ways these systems try to keep us safe.

I really love what I do, and I also love walks with my dog, comedy, reading, music, and being with friends.

What is trauma?

Trauma is something that is left after an event or period of time in our life, where we didn’t have all that we needed or had too much of something harmful. Traumatic stress often impacts our view of life, or the way they see ourselves in the world. These limiting beliefs are often the root of anxiety, relational issues, and ongoing distress.
